The Power of Color – Streetart around the world Part IX: Norway

Yeah, I know, I normally post street art photos from one city in particular, but somehow I found a few great pieces around Norway that I wanted to share but they were just not enough to split them up into single city-posts. That’s why I give you a little mix of streetart from around Norway (mainly Oslo and Bergen though..)

The Power of Color – Streetart around the world Part VIII: Milan, Italy

Milan might not be the city everyone thinks of when thinking about street art, but believe me, there’s plenty around! And it’s crazy how diverse the art around this city is!

And since I went to Milan during Milan Design Week, I’ve decided to also add a few of my favourite installation to this mix because why not? It’s art, too.

The Power of Color – Streetart around the world Part VI: Lisbon, Portugal

I was looking forward to coming to Lisbon for a very long time. And one big reason was the amount of street art I’ve heard was to be found all around the city. And I wasn’t disappointed!
On my first day there, we even went to an exhibition by Bordalo II, an artist who makes art out of trash (a pretty cool idea if you ask me). You can find his pieces all around Portugal, but also in Dublin or Hamburg.

I’m sure I’ve only see a small percentage of all the street art around Lisbon, so I’m very excited to go back (maybe in the summertime) and discover some more!

The Power of Color – Streetart around the world Part V: Berlin, Germany

Berlin is a pretty grey city, especially around this time of the year. But luckily Berlin is famous for its street art scene and there are plenty of artists from all around the world that spread patches of color around the city. During my time there last week I’ve tried to take photos of a few of them to share with you. There might be a Part Two one day, because there’s definitely more streetart to explore!

The best places to find street art in Berlin are Kreuzberg, Neukölln, Friedrichshain and Berlin Mitte. If you are interested in that type of art definitely see if you can do a Street Art Walking Tour. I’ve done one in London once and I loved getting all the background information.
And if you are in Berlin on a very cold day and you just don’t feel like walking around these places but still want to find out more, go and visit Berlin’s new Street Art Museum Urban Nation. It’s has pieces from some of the biggest artist around the world and you can find changing art outside of the building as well.

The Power of Color – Streetart around the world Part IV: Hamburg, Germany

Hamburg is one of my favourite cities, which probably has a lot to do with the fact that I’ve lived there for 5 years.
What I truly love about the city is, how diverse it is. It has very beautiful parts, that might even seem a little too clean and perfect and then you just take a train for a few stations and you find yourself in a pool of creativity and edginess. Needless to say that there’s tons of streetart around, and while I was there the last time, I snapped some of the coolest things I’ve seen there.

While I was walking around the city taking photos of the art around, I saw a guided tour which seemed like a street art tour. So I researched a bit and found one that’s called Alternative Hamburg (similar to the one I took in London last year), so go check it out if you are interested in that!

The Power of Color – Street art around the world Part II: Valparaíso, Chile

I am fascinated by streetart. I am fascinated by the fact that there are people out there who can paint the most beautiful paintings, sometimes in the matter of minutes, with a message that makes all of the spectators think. I am fascinated by the cities that are so colorful that you don’t even know where to look first. And on top of that, those cities don’t even know how picturesque they are.

My post today introduces you to one of the cities I’ve known about for so long and I always wanted to visit because of it’s colorful appearance. I finally made it there in December 2016 (find my blogposts about Chile here and here) and because the street art was just too beautiful not to share, I’ll do it here now.

The Power of Color – Streetart around the world Part I: Dublin, Ireland

I am fascinated by streetart. I am fascinated by the fact that there are people out there who can paint the most beautiful paintings, sometimes in the matter of minutes, with a message that makes all of the spectators think. I am fascinated by the cities that are so colorful that you don’t even know where to look first. And on top of that, those cities don’t even know how picturesque they are.

Today, I want to introduce you to a city I was able to call home for a bit: Dublin. People might not think of Dublin when they are thinking about the best street art cities around, but it still has great art around that shouldn’t be missed. And great artists.
