This weekend my parents are here in Dublin for a visit, next week a friend of mine is coming over and I hope there will be a lot more visits happening throughout this year. Because there is nothing better than having people visit the city you live in and you are falling in love with.
For today’s Tipp I thought I’d do something different. I am not a big fan of people presenting themselves or their oh-so-pretty looking food on Instagram but I certainly am a big fan of every single Instagram account out there that shows how beautiful this world is. This is why I want to present you my favorite Instagram Accounts that make me want to pack my bag and travel the world right away.
Another Friday and another day that hopefully goes by fast. To sweeten the afternoon, here are some of my pictures of beautiful Austria, when I was trekking (almost all the way) up to Ellmauer Tor with my awesome friend and her awesome dog. Here it goes.
“Really, sharing a bed with 9 strangers? I couldn’t do that.”
That’s just one of the sentences I hear all the time when I express my love for hostels in front of people. I can’t even count anymore in how many different hostels I slept. But I know, that I loved every one of them. Yes, there are definitely downsides to hostels, but I still would chose Hostels over Hotels or AirBnbs anytime. Here’s why:
I actually wanted to write a completely different post at this point. One about how every city has its beauty. This is still true but when something so ugly happens in so many of those cities nowadays, I don’t think this post would be appropriate right now.
You all know what happened in Paris. And you all know why. But I am pretty sure none of you understand why. I definitely don’t. I don’t understand, why people don’t let other people believe what they believe, do what they do and live how they live. The world could be so peaceful if everyone just respected and accepted everyone. Instead people kill people to prove some kind of point and that leads to more killing and the vicious circle will never end.
I already read that opinion on so many channels on Social Media this morning but I still do want to share it as well. Because it’s true. Everyone has to try to make this world a better place. Even if it’s just with a little smile towards a stranger or respect towards a foreigner. Do it. It won’t hurt you and it definitely won’t hurt anyone else. And maybe it helps. I would like to believe in it. Because we have to believe in something these days to still be able to say that the world is beautiful and we are happy to be alive.
Like already mentioned on my Facebook page, I recently travelled to Northern Ireland, more concretely to Belfast.
When I met a friend a few months ago, who just travelled Ireland, he told me it would be fine to just skip Belfast and spend more time in other parts of (Northern) Ireland. Even though I considered taking his advice, I decided to see myself what Belfast is about. And to be honest, I liked it. (I feel like I say that about every city, but that’s because I think everything has a beauty in itself. But that’s a topic for a whole new blogpost.)
I only spend around 2 (and a half) days in Belfast, so of course I didn’t see all of it. But here are some of my highlights I’d recommend you to do and some things I unfortunately didn’t have the time to explore enough.
After I had a little incident with broken glass at a Halloween Party at my house the other night, I started thinking about respect. And that respect is one of the most important things a person should have. Ever. But especially when travelling.
